LinuxMCE 14.04

Install on Mac

1. Add to mce-install.sh in function ConfigSources () : AddRepoToSources “http://deb.linuxmce.org/ trusty main”
2. Wipe disc using Mac Linux USB Loader
3. Install using unetbootin (partition 1) and refind (partition2) on a 4 GB USB
4. Internet is required
5. Install ASIX driver: http://www.asix.com.tw/FrootAttach/driver/AX88772C_772B_772A_760_772_178_LINUX_DRIVER_v4.17.0_Source.tar.bz2
6. Update Kubuntu to the latest Version
7. run mce-install.sh including the shadow repo:

   http://deb.linuxmce.org/ trusty main

Working ..

1. NAS: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Network_Attached_Storage (with username and password)
2. PPPOE Setup (using webadmin)
3. qOrbiter iPad (added using webadmin)
4. Resynchronize media
5. Bluetooth
6. AirPlay: http://dokuwiki.knallimall.org/linuxmce_macmini_2010_4_1/linuxmce_1204_airplay
7. USB-UIRT: Added manually to MD using webadmin (…after wating 15 minutes and 2 reboots). Set “COM Port on PC” and save was required as well. When added the device to the MD it is is created under “Hybrid/core” which is not good according to the wiki, but it works here.
8. ZWave (Setup manually: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/ZWave#Manual_setup_.2F_Download_configuration not detected automatically)
9. samba

Waiting for test ..

1. asterisk: intercom, telecom, etc (seems to work)
2. VDR

3. VPN (is killing pppoe setup: removes pppoe secret from /etc/ppp/pap-secrets when enabled in network settings): http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac/ticket/2349
   1. on disabled: take care of credentials and comment
   2. on enabled: check for a clean config and restart network.
4. RaspberryPi Media Director (stuck in commandline login.)
5. OwnCloud Setup
6. DDNS - currently not saving values correctly
